I really wanted to share a scrapbook page using our Country Living summer cookout kit since today is Independence Day, but alas, mine does not arrive until Monday, so I thought I'd show this one instead! I'll make sure to use it for a page for next Saturday, but until then...
What I love about this page, besides the cutie patootie! is that I didn't have any Designer Series papers in the colors I wanted to use: real red, brilliant blue, and whisper white (I will Monday!). At first I was bummed, then realized I have all these great supplies, so contemplated how to make it myself.
1. I grabbed a strip of glossy white and cut to size.
2. I applied alcohol to three cotton balls, then added a single drop of ink in real red, brilliant blue, and bashful blue.
3. Finally, I swiped each cotton ball across the strip to create my own Designer Series paper!
I used my new alphabet, Taffy, I received free from Sale-a-bration (did you know I earned SIX free stamp sets during Sale-a-bration???) in whisper white ink for the title, then added the small words with our small star punch. I had to add the real red and stars elsewhere, so added the photo corner punch too.
I love this - another great use for our re-inkers! And it's so easy! You might understand now why I purchased the re-inkers all together (you can purchase them by color family) instead of as I needed them; plus, you get a discount when you purchase them as a set. So when are you going to get some alcohol and re-inkers and create something fantastic? And don't forget to enter to win a fabulous prize box - check it out here.
Wish shoe stampin' (and scrapbookin') fun!
