Vintage labels swap

Here's my second swap card using our new Sale-a-bration set called Vintage Labels.  Getting this in our unmounted set makes placement a breeze!

Does this card look familiar?  I made one like this using our curly label punch kit (you can see it here) and figured this would be a great one with this new stamp set. The front is crushed curry with crushed curry dotted ribbon wrapped around and knotted.  I punched a window out of the front using the curly label punch.

I stamped the image and sentiment in basic gray (which was easy to line up!) and punched with our curly label punch, then punched the same shape out of the front of the card to make a window.  The flower is in basic gray with our three for you punch with a fire circle rhinestone brad. 

Meet my new friends...Fox & friends!

Here's a bit of a sneak peek of a stamp set from the upcoming Occasions Mini brochure.  I was drawn to this stamp set, Fox & friends, for a couple reasons.  I realized recently that I don't have that many sets that are kid-friendly, and it's just too stinkin' cute!

Isn't this just adorable?  I found this card sketch on splitcoaststampers using an alligator, and thought it would work perfect with this new set.  I used melon mambo and chocolate chip on a kraft background, with a bit of paper piercing (which I've never done!).  I'll have to make another with blue though - it seems that whenever I need a baby card, I have the wrong gender, so I am going to be proactive and make sure I'm covered!

Gifts galore!

Thought I'd share a couple more gift sets I created.  And Andrew added a teacher's aide, so I have to make a couple more of them! 

The first one uses our Tea Party Designer series paper.  The base is almost amethyst, and the cards use pretty in pink as a base.  I stamped the sentiment from Oval All with basic gray since that is the color of the outlines in the print.  This is a great spring set - should have saved it!

This one is the same idea as the above one, but uses our Razzleberry Lemonade Designer series paper and new In Color papers, inks, and ribbon!  The base is rich razzleberry, and the cards are crushed curry and melon mambo. 

So just curious, which one is your favorite?  I wish I could show you my favorite - it was made from our Autumn Traditions Designer series paper - just think, elegant eggplant, kraft, and always artichoke!  Just beautiful!

Easy gift for anyone!

I haven't made one of these in several years, but I pulled it back out when for this year's Gifts & Wraps class.  All you need is an easel frame (from a department store), post-it notes, and an RSVP pen.

I simply used a bit of Razzleberry Lemonade Designer series paper for the base, then added an initial (my daughter totally knew it was for her when she saw the "g" during class!) using Just perfect alphabet and our scallop and circle punches for some personalization.  The melon mambo dotted ribbon I just had to add to give it some texture and interest (and you just can't go wrong with ribbon!).  You could even create holiday pictures to change out since it is a picture frame!  For the pen, I unscrewed the barrel, rolled up the paper, slid it in, then replaced the cap.  Pretty cool to have a coordinating gift - when are you going to the store?  Pick me up a couple more!

Spice up your gift cards

by doing something more than just an envelope!  I folded the business size envelope so sides touched, then decorated with our bold snowflakes jumbo wheel and our Christmas punch hostess set!  When you open the flap, it's the perfect place to put a gift card!

Again, this is not so traditional, but I have a couple sisters who would love this combination of lovely lilac, melon mambo, and so saffron!  However, after I created it, I thought it might have been prudent to make it more masculine since we tend to give gift cards to men a lot, so I'll probably be making another one using night of navy, ruby red, and so saffron.

A little ribbon goes a long way

Wouldn't this sweet little turkey be perfect for a mantle, table, even place holder?  He's so easy to make - I started with my turkey base from last year (see this post) and used ribbon instead of punches!  He's so cute! 

 

I used three inch pieces of pumpkin pie grosgrain, crushed curry dotted, and 5/8 inch chocolate chip grosgrain ribbons for his feathers.  If I create him again, I'll be staggering them more, but for a first attempt, I think he's pretty cute!

The perfect gift...

This may not be perfect for everyone on your list, but I think it could cover a few people!  What's better than a pretty package that includes cards and chocolate?

Isn't this just the cutest thing?  And it looks like it's packaged from a Hallmark store!  It's simply a small box in real red, 1/2 inch deep, wrapped with a window sheet, with two 3x3 cards on each end using Delightful Decorations stamp set, ornament punch and Holiday Traditions Designer series paper, and three covered Hershey's nuggets in the middle.  I'm thinking about this for my Holiday gifts class coming up - what do you think?

Just delightful!

I had used the same 3x3 card for several vendor fairs and a couple workshops, and was ready for something new, so I came up with this one!  I love how simple it is, and it's just too cute!

I used a one inch strip of our Holiday Traditions Designer series paper, with a scalloped chocolate chip strip beneath.  The ornament is from our Delightful Decorations stamp set with our ornament punch.  Fun!

Holiday card class Nov 6

I have a sneak peek for my next holiday card class November 6at 6:30 pm.  I even used more traditional colors, at least for these two. 

 

The first card combines the Medallion stamp with our bird from the Birds & blooms sizzlets.  It also uses real red and crushed curry.  (Note to self: make sure to poke out the bird's eye before sending!)

 

For this one, I used our ornament punch to make a stencil!  However, I will provide the Stamp-a-ma-jig at the class for matching the stamp with the punch better!

Recipe remodel - indoor s'mores!

I have to tell you to be careful when you make this recipe!  I have pulled the ingredients together and finally, on the fifth time, I have a sample to share with you! 

 

This is the easiest recipe, and one my husband (who is the taste tester at our house) says is even better than traditional s'mores!

3 cups mini marshmallows
3 cups Golden Grahams (or similar)
6 cubes bark coating

1. Toss marshmallows and cereal together. 
2. Melt bark coating and pour over mixture.
3. Stir to coat and spoon into cupcake papers. 
Makes 18+

So of course I had to decorate, and realized that today is the last day of school before Halloween (since All Saints' Day lands on Sunday, my kids are off Friday) so made it real simple.

 

I used one of our Cello bags and added gussets (that's for another post), then placed my treat inside.  The sentiment from Teeny tiny messages, stamped in basic black, is punched out with our word window punch, then matted in pumpkin pie with our modern label punch and held on with a bit of black 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon. 

 

I slipped it into the pails I decorated a few days ago (you can see that post here) for a great spooky Halloween gift!

Now, once you've had a chance to make these Indoor s'mores, don't say I didn't warn you!  You'll be making them often, but hey, they are so easy!
