Scrapbookin' on Saturday - spring & egg-cellent

When I received my calendar, I LOVED it!  I can't wait to make next year's calendar, but this year I am making one for myself!

This one uses the Sunny Days kit.  There are papers, elements, and more that coordinate with this set, which makes it super easy to finish a page!  The base is our Grid designer series paper in old olive, and I used the Schoolbook serif alphabet for the title, with the stamps from this kit for the "i." 

This page also uses the Sunny day kit, but only the print at the bottom.  When I finished with the page, I thought it looked a bit plain, so I added the hodgepodge hardware to frame the top.  Since I "stamped" the title instead of using a text box, I could move the letters about instead of keeping them even, which creates a fun page.

Oooh, I can't wait to start on this year's calendar!  What fun!

 

This page uses a combination of the Christmas Jingle digital kit and the Snowburst digital stamp set.  I have made this layout a couple times for my technique classes and scrapbooking samples, so it was a breeze to pull together. 

This one uses another digital kit called Summer Home.  It was very simple (almost too simple)!  I love how this kit has the perfect element - the Love you sentiment. 

You know, if you plan now, you could make a calendar page a month and have your gift ready in no time!  If you didn't get the software for Christmas, nudge that someone you love and tell them there's still time to redeem themselves and give them my email!

Scrapbookin on Saturday - celebrate & sunny days

In case you are wondering, I did indeed finish my My Digital Studio calendar for the parents - it should arrive any day and I cannot wait to see how it turned out (the computer screen can only do so much!).  So I thought I would share a couple more months with you.

This one uses the Happy birthday kit, including papers, elements, and stamps!  I added brads and buttons for interest and color.  Like our physical stamps, papers, and inks, I love how everything coordinates and works together!

This one uses Sunny day digital stamp kit, just perfect alphabet, and schoolbook serif numbers. The background is from Sunny day designer series paper.  Do you see the staples at the bottom and top of the grosgrain ribbon?  Easy to do!  How about the "torn" edge of the chocolate chip cardstock?  That is actually a stamp!

Can you tell I am enjoying this software?  I can't believe how easy it is to use!  And I can't wait to see the final product!!!

Scrapbookin' on Saturday - sweets

This is my December page for my calendar using My Digital Studio and I love the snowflakes!  They are from the Christmas Jingle kit that is included with the program. 

I pulled the colors from the kit to create snowflakes in old olive, real red, and chocolate chip, then I just played!  I found eyelets, buttons, brads and more for the centers!  The sentiment is a punch with a "stamp" on top. 

If you haven't found something to love about this program, I still have six more calendar pages to show you (and soon - I'm running out of time!).  If you have, put this on your holiday list and maybe someone will give you one!

Scrapbookin on Saturday - so thankful

Here's my fifth page for my calendar for the grandparents using My Digital Studio.  It took me a little longer since I didn't have any digital stamps specifically for Thanksgiving, but still faster than with paper!  This time I tried out a photo mat, and played with the Hodgepodge hardware some more! 

Now I really have to get moving - I need to get this finished and printed so I can give them for Christmas!  If you are giving handmade gifts for Christmas, share them with me - I could use some more ideas!

Scrapbookin' on Saturday - full of hot air

This is September's calendar page using My Digital Studio - I love making scrapbook pages for the family's with this program!  It is so easy, but really, it's because I don't have to print out my photos before I can play with them!

This page uses the Designer series papers from Sunny Day.  I just used swatches of each one for some interest, then added the little dog from Man's best friend and the cat from Cute cats in certainly celery.  Of course there is ribbon - I just couldn't resist, but I like how it's in front of one picture and behind another - may have to try some of these ideas on paper pages!

Scrapbookin' on Saturday - you make me smile

So here's another month for my calendar scrapbook using My Digital Studio for the grandparents.  I started the page with the pictures and distressed background, then kept looking at it because it wasn't coming together!  After thinking about it, I added the tag and "stamp" from Eat, drink and be scary (one of 60 digital stamps that comes with the program) for a very simple but fast page.

There's really nothing to this page - a punch and ribbon, stamp and Designer series paper!  Add a little bit of journaling and that's that!  I need to get more pictures into my computer so I can show more pages - how many more do I need to create to show you that this program is AWESOME?

Scrapbookin' on Saturday - fireworks fun

I wanted to share another My Digital Studio page from my calendar, and I created most of it on my own!  There are several templates with picture slots in which you just click and drag your pictures.  Very easy!  I just added a few embellishments!

I used the star punch and adjusted sizes, plus layered them.  I then added whisper white brads in the centers of the larger stars.  And you know how I love ribbon - I added one to the focal picture for interest with a knot and a real red button. 

Now I'm on a mission to get my pictures uploaded so I can get this calendar finished and printed!  I can't wait to give it to family!  If you would like a guided tour with this new software and live close by, contact me and set up a time - I know you'll be hooked too!

Scrapbookin' on Saturday - enjoy life

I am hooked!  I've been playing with My Digital Studio, and let me tell you, I am amazed!  I did not think I would like a digital crafting solution - I've always been hands on, but I've started enjoying the creativity of various computer applications!  I purchased the software to create a calendar scrapbook for our families (I really hope they don't read this!) and wanted to share the first page I finished (it's not January!).  At the end of the year, it is my hope that our parents will take the pages and put them in a scrapbook for their enjoyment.

We are in the middle of moving all our pictures from our old computer to my laptop, so I only had July and August.  I found the August pictures I wanted to use, and created this page pretty quick!  Then I lost it when I thought it was a junk file (!) so re-created it in even less time!  The only problem I see right now is that I have several favorite stamp sets that aren't digital yet, but I'll just bet that many of them are on the way!

Scrapbookin' on Saturday - pumpkin patch party

I have to tell you I just love this Saturday feature!  I have actually finished enough pages that I can see a big difference in my photo boxes, which means I can finally start printing out pictures from 2008 (yes, I meant 2008, almost two years ago!). 

It's funny - I don't usually make scenic scrapbook pages, but I've made a couple just in this past month!  I used paper from our Autumn traditions Designer series paper for a border on the left - it looked a little unbalanced so I wanted to add something.  The title uses both Just perfect and Taffy alphabets in whisper white craft ink. 

The grass is again our Inspired by Nature in always artichoke, and the pumpkins are punched with our large oval and 1 1/4 inch circle punches in more mustard. I sponged the edges of each shape for some definition, then cut small pieces of chocolate chip for stems. 

So I don't have a digital page to share yet - I've been watching the webinars and taking quizzes so I can become certified to answer your questions.  Wish me luck!
